Rosh Chodesh – Friday, January 20, 2023
7:15pm in person; 7:30 pm on zoom

Join us as we welcome the eleventh month of the Hebrew Year 5783, the month of Shevat.   Shevat is the month of the tribe of Asher.  Asher means “happy”.  Let us be part of a JOY filled tribe.

Let us start the month of Shevat checking our foundation.  We want our lives to be built on a foundation of righteousness.  Not our righteous, oh no, but the Lord’s for He is our righteousness!!  This is also the month to develop a plan of sustaining the generations.  We will consider our children and the children of NJ.

We will read and prayerfully consider Psalm 1.

Shevat is called the month of the new year of trees.  With that in mind, it is also a good month to review Genesis 2-3 and the tale of two trees, the story in Genesis about the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  God gave Adam one “rule”, and he did not obey.  In the presence of Satan, the liar, Adam and Eve chose to believe Satan rather than God.  Who are we believing?  Who is our state, and national government believing and following? Are we seduced by appearances, Satan’s lies.  Do we seek Holy Spirit before making choices?  This month will open the door to Holy Spirit led prayers and decrees for our government, our families and ourselves.

You may want to take the time to read Psalm 1 and Genesis 2-3 before joining us.  Please have communion elements ready if you join us on zoom.  And everyone, you will want to have your Bible with you.
